"Irish Roots" Event Great Success!

It was a sellout! Close quarters added to the fun as happy participants enjoyed an evening of Irish history and lore.
Irish historian and genealogy expert Jack Burke spoke and answered multiple questions.

Of course, the food was wonderful! - Shepherds' Pie, cabbage and potatoes, corned beef - and dessert!
David Sant did eventually make a selection from the tray offered by Co-Chairman Kay Miracle-Burke.

Hats off to organizers Kim Doyle, Kay Miracle-Burke and Michael Burke!!!
Thank You!!!

PAC B and Museum Continue to Collaborate
Seen here: PAC B videographer Colin Kahl with Pat and John McFall, January speakers at Museum.

January's "Remembering Baldwinsville" session featured well-known village residents Pat and John McFall. On hand for the session representing PAC B was videographer Colin Kahl. Hosted by the Museum, the popular "Remembering Baldwinsville" program presents area residents recollecting their local experiences.
Through the cooperation of PAC B, Baldwinsville's local cable access channel, each of these sessions is both broadcast throughout the entire cable viewing area and recorded for posterity. Copies of the program are also available for purchase through PAC B.
This collaborative project furthers the Museum's mission, brings informative programming to the community and provides a fund raising opportunity for PAC B.
- This must be the "Poster Child" for the famous "Win-Win" scenario!
Seen at Annual Meeting November 6, 2008
Onondaga Historical Association's Curator of History Dennis Connors, seen at the far left with Museum Director Sue McManus, was our featured speaker. Historic preservation was the topic and Dennis described both its benefits and its difficulties. He noted Baldwinsville's great number of period structures and their contribution to the community's quality of life.
The photo at the right shows McHarrie's Legacy President Theresa Gross with author and B'Villian Steve McMahon. That evening Steve presented the museum with a copy of his newly published book "Outstanding on His Head: The Extraordinary Life & Times of Arthur Reeves of Lysander, New York, and Draycott, England". The 377 page hard cover volume contains detailed information about both the Reeves Family and the Town of Lysander.

From Peony Patch to Peony Garden
This fall more than 200 peony plants from the museum's Heritage Peony Collection have been dug. The massive undertaking is still in progress as plants have been divided and replanted. Some of the plants were sold to gardeners who had ordered them in June at our Peony Fest. Some were moved into the new main bed in front of the museum. Others were transplanted from our off-site peony patch and brought into our other newly expanded museum beds to increase the number of varieties exhibited in our show garden.
Our heartfelt thanks goes to each and every gardener involved in this Herculean task!
